Unpopular opinion:
AI creates a completely new image that is 100% unique, that has been based on readings of images on the Internet. AI has no creative process other than the prompt you give it; because it is just ones and zeros. if you take a high-quality photo of the AI generated image you have not infringed copyright laws, this is because the robot has no creative process. Once you have taken that photo of the AI image it shows the 1st creative process and intention. Although your photo of the AI generated image may be similar, it is still different and a new format of code. That’s how you make an AI image your own so you can copyright the image.
If you can’t understand what I’m saying then you shouldn’t be able to determine whether you can copy write an AI generated image.
in conclusion: AI is a tool. also you cannot own the first image format that is given to you on the AI website. there has been no creative process after the AI generates the photo. And the first creative process is when you take a photo of the AI image. It’s pretty simple 🙄
