Okay actually the old art you showed is bad in comparison to now, but was probably recognized as art talent for that age compared to your peers because most people couldn’t even draw that far. I do think anyone can improve but not everyone is gonna be an actual talented artist. That said, I disagree with the blue blood argument. On one hand, I, personally, don’t see an issue with someone using art for funzies to get an idea across, non-profit related stuff, nothing they pay for and especially if to replicate official IP or to re-sell. But you also could ask someone to draw it for you and get your very specific input, give specific references. I’ve tried to use AI to make an image of my own characters by description alone. It’s a lot of trial and error and it was only cool that I could get kinda close enough don’t wife and friends to recognize it’s suppose to be my characters, but it wasn’t exactly my characters. In the end, it would be easier for me to just draw it. If you can’t draw or know anyone who does art or can’t pay for someone to do art, I can see using AI as the next best thing as long as it’s not for business or the stuff I listed above. But I don’t think anyone is mocking AI artists for using AI. Artists are only against it because of all the harmful things people can do with it and the risks of harmful things they can do. They may mock AI “Artists” for calling themselves artists and for trash talking real artists. That’s their own fault. If you’re one of these people, you can’t cry and play victim about not having any art talent and still be offended that you aren’t considered an artist. If you’re an artist, you’re an artist. If you’re not then you’re not. Choose one. Don’t flip flop based on your mood and the situation.
