The unethical and rapid-fire usage of AI “art” generators at the moment is worrying to me, and I feel that the loud majority of people who are using it are the same people who went Al out when NFTs became the hit. Essentially “tech bros”. I’m not one to say AI has no part in art, there are ways it can be beneficial, in both directions for AI and Art, however, malpractice and unethical use is the thing we’re fighting against. AI development deserves a future but so do artists. Go suck a lemon if you think AI should and “will” replace artists, or go draw 100 pictures yourself if you are so inclined to feed an AI work that you want to mimic. Put in the work yourself or don’t complain about us being “entitled” or that we’re “gatekeeping art”.
