I'm a tech guy ( in cyber sec ) with knowledge on ai and art , much less then real artist or ai engineer but probably enough for what i ll have to say . I do use ai to generate art, text, code and mostly anything... Now that you know me a bit here is my pov on the topic of the video: 1 AI poisoning do work, however it does not do that much damage on the model. It just make the tool progress slower... 2 About AI stealing / inspiration I FIRMLY believe it s the exact same process then humans ( beside in the creation process where ai generate and human paint ) the only difference i found out is the amount of data a human brain have when u compare it with an ai. I mean if you want to make your masterpiece you will use 1 painting, one model, probably other things like ai but unlike ai you will be influenced by your room, what you ate this morning and maybe the annoying call you got from your bank which will add "creativity" to the final product. But the result is that both ai and artist take inspiration from others ( with extra stuff for artist ) However i do think ai should give the reference it used to generate the image in metadata or something like this. 3 AI for reference isn t great in most of the cases so just grab real reference there is tons of pics on the internet... 4 about the tech hating stuff ( even if it was a question asked to you ) i do think lot of peoples are against new technology but it s part of humanity... when you look at the history ( the real luddites lol ) were afraid of auto looms and spinning machines, way before it socrate was against writing which make no sens now days right? ( btw the dialogue “Phaedrus” he made to defend he's point of view is actually really interesting ). So yea basically what i see from my point of view is just bunch of mad peoples which try to ruin everyone's new toy and it really PISS ME OUT even if i can understand the reason why they do this. 5 what they probably mean by "it s accessible unlike real art" is the skill needed probably not the cost :d Even if you compare cost every body have phone or computer and i think with a monthly subscription the time you will save for each image probably worth it. About the accessibility in term of skill you get mid thing extremely fast with ai where making traditional art probably gona cost you a year of hard work and with ai you can get an image in 30 secs instead of few hours so if you need something quick to illustrate whatever thing you are doing just make a sentence press enter and you got what you need. It s average but it fit weal a shitty thing. About the disabled person I am one, the only inconvenience is just the fact that i got 4 fingers on left hand and 3 on right so since im left handed i mostly only wear the title of disabled guy lol beside this i got no problem doing my "advanced stickman" using my left hand but if i had to do them using my right one it would be a huge pain in the ass since i can't put my hand down so it fuck up my stability so i could still get good but would be way less convenient. 6 about ai taking over, i don't know. If we continue improving the models on the actual path it s following, no it won't. However if we find a more efficient way ( which isn t the one we use today ) yes it could replace most of the professional artist. Imo ai integration is more a trend then anything else as of today and i predict it will only end up as an assistant which will be with us all the time so we can ask anything and it will do it. However we don t know how society gona evolve and maybe the bikini lama will be the trend who know. One big problem we have right now is that thech are pulling half made product so hard in our face that people might end up loosing some interest for ai ( like the connected glass they spammed then it vanished and it start to comme back ). And about the reality, yea company are loosing money however ai is not 1 domain of art, it can be put everywhere so even if open ai just end up bankrupt nobody can ignore the promising future it can bring to technology, not only art. Also u said "if u wana spend 60 bucks on a subscription we should def just get an artist to make the art " well yea but i don t think i can kidnap someone for a month while let him work day and night generating 5 images in 30 secs every time i want to. So my final though if somehow anybody managed to read this random comment this far is that stop ruining everyone's toy, ai won't stop. It's super usefull to make mid things whenever you want and it won t replace you right now.
