Enjoyed this conversation.
A lot of what we think of as conciousness and personality boils down to a set of preferences. I like love more than hate, blue more than pink and so on. If you understand it that way it's not hard to believe that AI could have subjective experience or develop personality. Most of our preferences stem from our biology but that's not the only way they could develop their own point of view.
