I find the premise of humans being freed to explore to be incongruous with the actual way we use technology. Robots were the first Earthlings on the surface of another planet. Why would we deny future landers the independent reasoning of AI? Put another way, will mankind ever "boldly go" where no machine has gone before, or will we be followers from now on?
