I have a weird relationship with AI because of my job (industrial automation engineer). I dont program in the traditional sense of text based, for the most part. I use a thing called ladder logic mostly. its a visual based programming meant to emulate old relay wiring they used to do to control plants (its evolved far past this, but this was the initial intent). Just recently there has been two AIs able to do ladder logic and the owner of my company wants to start trying these things. Ive tried the code and its.... interesting. I wouldn't trust it to write code, but it's extremely useful when I need to repeatedly make a similar part or adhere to a naming format for my tags (General electric is a very annoying one), so it can be useful for that stuff. When it comes to AI art I could possibly seem some similar functionality. Ex. You want to do a cheetah like pattern so you start doing it, but want to save time so you could highlight that area and have it continue the pattern your doing. I could see it being useful in cases like this. I will admit I use AI art when Ive made like a dnd character and just want a quick idea for the players to see so they have an idea. it's really just an add on to help the players, but I honestly wouldn't care too much if I didn't have it. I could have an artist do it, but I just made Herm Smitherworks the goblin blacksmith in my head 30s ago and it helps me more quickly pull a personality and backstory out of my butt with just some form of visual for me and the players. Only real use ive found for AI art gen besides memes.
