I think the difference is like, how an artist, even if they work for a company, are individual, have their own art style, and worked for a long time to develop that style. An AI is OWNED by a company, and it copies the style of another artist. Really I believe it's a matter of effort and time. Personally, I do programming, and these tools scrape open source code, but I think that's immoral, because it *could/should be a violation of certain open source licenses, and contributors of these projects spend their precious time developing and writing code, all for openAI to scrape that code and resell it in a proprietary product.
