I have essential tremors, a nervous system disability that causes my hands to shake. The amount in which my hands shake depends largely on a number of things (for example if I'm stressed they shake a ton, if I'm in physical pain they shake like crazy, and furthermore the more I pay attention to them and or actively try to stop the shaking the more they shake.) This can at times make drawing difficult, especially when it comes to making everything neat, often I can struggle with things such as getting things straight and smooth. That being said as an artist I have over immense time and practice adopted a personal art style that works with me that I personally think looks good. I've learnt to work with and around my flaws and include them rather than trying to avoid the unavoidable which would lead to me inevitably crashing out. I find it makes my art more interesting and personal and also makes drawing super stress relieving. Typically I draw non digitally but occasionally I'll draw digitally by hand on my phone. I am aware of different tools that can aid in stabilizing my hands both for digital and non-digitally, but generally speaking I choose to use such minimalistically. I like my art how it is, everything I draw has a part of me in it and I would never change that just because I'm not perfect. Alternatively I find my struggles are part of the spice that makes my art good. I despise generative ai, not only because of the reasons listed in this video but also because I view it as the attempted murder of the humanistic creative soul/mind. A hollow mimicry of that which is beautiful and that which can only truly be obtained in part through struggle. To me "art" that has neither struggle nor humanistic back story, be it big or small, is below meaningless.
