Expressing yourself through your art is making something that is you, that comes from you and, here's the kicker, *made by your own hands* and what we people, silently maybe, but always present, appreciate about art is the work that is put into it, that we can feel what the artist felt and that is what resonates with us. that's why art is personal. Picasso didn't ask his brother to paint his pictures, Van Gogh didn't ask his neighbour, nor did Michaelangelo, and IMO this is what AI art is. You ask someone else to make it for you, sure, but guess what, it'll have their influence in the art, not yours. It will always be the influence of the AI programme that's in the piece, not yours. A few years from now we will not know what an "Allen" piece is, why yours would stand out, but we will know, and we do know, what an AI piece is. So what exactly are you defending? Your right to express yourself or the right to have something copywritten that is indistinguishable from the "art" your 6-year old niece made with the same tool? OK, this one might be a bit harsh, but no-one is keeping you from expressing yourself, they are seeing that it cannot be copywritten. But this coming from someone who is only just learning how to draw perspectives so hey, what do I know.
