The paradox is, AI is the only surefire way to preserve endangered languages. Because there aren’t enough people left who speak them, and there’s no one trying to learn them. Machine engines are being built for indigenous American languages as we speak. They will only be as good as the data inputs, which are minimal compared to common languages, but they offer an alternative to extinction. The brain and tech will continue their odd dance, each one dependent on the other.
