I used to be okay with AI art for stuff like dnd character portraits, or for purely nonprofit recreational sources, until it was illuminated to me how prolific of a propaganda tool it is. Older generations do not have the mental skill sets necessary to differentiate real from fake when it comes to AI images. This, I believe, is why fascism is on such a sharp rise across the world, people don't know what to believe, so they just believe what their favourite person tells them. Not to mention how much power AI eats up to function, and how terrible that is for the environment. Not to mention all of the jobs AI is stealing, and could potentially steal from artists who have poured their life into improving their craft. If we're gonna have AI, I want it to to ease the burdens of manual labour, so I'm free to pursue my art, not to ease my art so I can pursue my labour.
