The biggest oversight in this scenario is the fact that the company itself doesn't just go out of business. There are a lot of shops that sell services that will also get replaced and others that rely on that business for their own business. That will lead to a cascading effect for the entire economy. Leading to a much more rapid collapse of the economy than even the AI companies can overpower.
At some point everything will collapse and no amount of media censorship will be able to cover it up because when people can't eat, they tend to notice that shit. Which WILL lead to violent protests that the government can either try to put down or see people take power by force.
