Lily sounds mentally ill, and it sounds like some of her social anxiety regarding interacting with other people has been enabled and left untreated by giving her a robot and telling her the robot will be better than a person… Then allowing her to truly believe that. She’s seeing human characteristics as inherently flawed whereas being able to have a robot that you can program to do exactly what you said as somehow markedly better than having a person. That’s the problem : she’s saying the robot is better than a person with genuine belief,. That’s where it starts to slip into the illness spectrum for me where she’s saying that every person could lie, cheat, steal, etc. which to me speaks to her real fears of interacting with humans.
