I see parallels between AI and firearms. The 2nd amendment enshrines citizens with the right to own extremely powerful technology (the firearm), in order to decentralize the use of force. This levels the playing field and promotes careful governance.
The first country to enact an equivalent amendment for AI. Will model the same principles of liberty and decentralization of power, that the USA achieved with the second amendment.
In other words, solve the danger of abuse by decentralizing and democratizing AI.
Open source is the canary in the coal mine. If you see them clamp down on OSS, they’re doing the opposite of decentralization.
Blocking your access to AI, is equivalent to taking away your firearms.
