I'm CEO from an AI company that offers the automatization services this guy talks about. First I would like to say that his premise is completely flawed as his scenarios are merely fanfiction. Will you lose you job? depends on the company, on your country and the kind of work you perform. AI and robots as cool as they are and as advanced as they can get perhaps eventually they may or may not be able to do your job. But by that point your government will focus in preventing the market from crashing and the people from revolting no matter what kind of Orwellian tactics they may have at their disposal. WIthout people consuming there's no point increasing productivity and when you reach certain level of automatized systems capitalism stops making sense. You should know by now that markets in countries like the US are kept afloat by giving millions of people pointless jobs just to keep the market alive and the money flowing. When we as civilization reach certain technological milestone, the economic system follows as the primary goal is to keep our species around. What happens next is just a bunch of speculation made by scholars about what could possibly a post capitalist era would look like, but whatever it is, it is not what the clickbait cool stories from some random youtuber tell you, that's for sure. Will it make a profound change in how and why we consume stuff?, no doubt, will you be granted an UBI, the majority of people already do, will we become commies?, you bet your ass we will in some shape or form, is just the natural evolution of our economic systems.
