Heard a thing over on Benn Jordan's channel: The AI art bot trainers are getting around nightshade now by blurring pictures and then having a different AI re-sharpen them. The good news is that this is way slower and more expensive for them to have to do to everything, so keeping up with the nightshade is generally a good way to punish them. It doesn't stop what they're doing, and they think there's enough money in it that they're willing to spend way more to keep stealing. I did hear about a different thing though- to some extent, these AIs can transmit patterns between each other just as invisibly and confusingly as everything else they do. Somebody made one of the chatbots into like a sycophant for kangaroos or something like that, then told it to generate some random numbers, and fed those into some of the training data for another AI. That AI ended up also being into kangaroos. I don't know what to do with this yet, besides maybe trying to make the new bots into communists or something, but there are gonna be other ways to foil the plans of these thieves. 3, 8, 1, 9, 2.
