They don't understand cognitive AI yet. It's like the Jaws of Life - a powerful tool vs using your hands. AI is a cognitive extension. A tool that amplifies the intellect and yes, lessens cognitive load, and so it should, so that your "load" is used more efficiently. Now they want to tie dementia to the ability to write an essay. When last did you write an essay, with or without ChatGPT, does this mean you're in trouble? Of course not. The variables are immeasurable at this point. The quality of ideas will improve and the ability to communicate more effectively is increased... say no more.
