We haven't solved the "alignment problem" (or any of these other problems, really) when dealing with other _humans._ The novelty of the threat AI poses is in the _scale_ of its ability to influence things.
A single human can only do so much. Human threats scale with group size and sophistication, but still face appreciable limitations.
A single AI stands to have the capacity to impact the world on scales we can barely comprehend. It doesn't even need to be malicious, it just needs to have negative unanticipated consequences, or to sufficiently empower already nefarious people to enact ill intent.
