Cameras alone is a stupid way to try to make a vehicle autonomous. Firstly you need multiple systems for both backup and additional data. You never want to put all eggs in one basket. Second, cameras have no depth. If something is huge or small but perfectly to scale, a camera can’t accurately tell how far away it is based on known data. Without camera pairs, there’s no stereo depth. Tesla has it wrong relying on cameras alone. Foolish. I’d not suggest Lyft is the winner. Basing everything on price alone is also foolish. You want the best Value and quality of service. Not necessarily the cheapest. Also, why have the vehicles not been installed with electrically closing doors?
