There’s an episode of the Midnigth Burger podcast (highly recommend) where they visit a version of earth where AI has taken all the jobs. When that happened the working class started selling advertising space, first on their houses, then on their skin and finally, when the episode happens, all citizens are legally obligated to have chips implanted in their brains that force them to recite ads and they’re constantly saying things like ‘this emotional moment brought to you by Kleenex’ while they’re actively crying. It’s scary but not all that out there thought experiment.
