Sorry, one more question and maybe I just need to finish watching the podcast, because it’s possible this gets addressed later by what’s-his-name, the Godfather of AI. But here’s what I’ve been thinking…
Governments are encouraging people to have more children right now, but if automation and AI are replacing so many jobs, and we end up needing fewer workers overall, then… where exactly are all these children supposed to work?
It feels like we’re creating a future where this new generation might lack purpose or even the ability to provide for themselves especially in a world that’s becoming more competitive, more toxic, and frankly more uncertain. That worries me.
And that’s just one layer.
The other thing I’m wondering is if fewer people are working, what happens to systems like Social Security? I know we’ve already heard warnings that it might not be around much longer, but the core issue still stands: the younger generation typically supports the older one. So if we reduce the workforce and destabilize earning potential, what does that really mean for the future of elder care, retirement, and just… human interdependence?
There feel like ripple effects here that aren’t getting the attention they deserve. Am I missing something, or is this concern valid?
