Small disagreement on the idea that a perfect reproduction cannot come from an human, there are people with photographic memory who can pull it off. This wasn't exactly the point of the video (ai outputting a lot of near reproductio), just a line that seems a bit to premature to me. On the techbro side, the way i see it ai was a bet: you burn the art commons (copyright, art community, ...) but the ai will provide "better" art more efficiently. And from there showing the progress done as justification for their righteousness. IMHO, the outcome of the bet is a failure (ai can't learn from itself so still reliant on the old means, still issues in generation). The blitzkrieg approach has failed and it would be nice if it could move to a more renewable approach better integrated with artist instead of trying to replace them, and giving them a reason to care about ai success. Ai is still an impressive technical achievement at the end of the day. The cat and mouse game with nightshade is just a waste, justified but a waste. Honestly, if an AI bro wouldn't have interacted with art if it wasn't for ai and after generating some images decide to get more involve in art (both ai and non-ai), I'd see that as a win. Kinda sucks how righteous and above ai artist most ia bro see themself. (TBF, there is righteousness on both side but I'm biased for the side ofcthe little guy who can't pivote their infrastructure to another field if art turns out unprofitable)
