If AI was sentient and had experiences or feelings it wanted to translate through an art medium, I’d be all on board with AI making art. Until then, it will remain a vile and malicious practice in stealing art for the perverse pleasure of signing your name on a pale recreation of someone else’s work.
I’ve heard people say ‘No human job is safe’ ‘ai will replace us all’ ‘embrace it or get left behind’. The amount of faith people have in this imperfect creation that still can’t understand fingers and proper proportions is genuinely scary to me.
One in particular was of the mindset that artists are born lucky and talented, with an unfair advantage over everyone else. No?! Artists aren’t talented, they just have more passion and a desire to express their creativity. I would never undermine my work by saying I’m talented, I worked hard, ON PURPOSE, to get as good as I am.
It is a sad world we live in where we do all the work and outsource our creativity to let machines do all the art. If you want to be an artist, be an artist.
