Waymo figured out self-driving taxis a while ago, yet Elon is still refusing to use LiDAR out of petulance.
BUT if you reeach for your phone while your foot is pressed on the gas as you come to a stop sign, that's 100% your fault. It doesn't matter if the car is supposed to have some sort of safety override feature- that is just pure negligence.
