Becaus3 the data and ai companies donate a lot of money. Thats why us does this. That and americans being ignorant with politics and not contacting their reps and senators to have them protect our privacy. The US outsourced to private companies because its illegal for the us government to surveill the population. So they pay private companies to do it so they bypass laws
