First off, I'm sorry to hear you're dealing with losing a well-paying job. As for me, I landed a new job and excelled in it for the last 8 months. Unfortunately, my contract ended and the company was running low on $ so they couldn't extend my services. With that said, I'm currently "Unemployed" looking for a new job. I used AI (Google's Gemini and Claude) to create resumes for jobs I felt I could be a top candidate in based on my previous accomplishments. I slowed down my process and found much more success than I saw before. I think I have applied to 25 - 40 jobs since my most recent contract ended as mentioned before. Granted, I only received 1 offer, but I think those odds are decent given the current market. Key points I'd give: ○ Don't apply to everything. ○ Use free versions of AI to craft resumes and cover letters for jobs that you feel you'd be a top candidate for. ○ Find other things to do, like working out, spending time with family/friends. ○ Be prepared to accept the fact that companies are posting fake jobs for various optics, so you may not hear back even if you’re overqualified.
