If artificial labor (AI and Robotics) replaces a human position, that company will make more money due to increased efficiency AND it will also save money by reducing labor costs to near 0. The solution is to tax these new record high profits in order to fund universal basic income.
Let’s say a human worker costs 100k to employ. If the worker is replaced, we should tax the company 90k to use artificial labor for that position. The company saves 10k or more per year, and their profits are higher than ever due to increased efficiency and other benefits, (no unions, no breaks, 24/7 labor, etc)
