Firstly your “bad” drawings are great for a beginner. They show the foundations for observation and your style comes through even then. It’s pretty tone deaf to show those like they’re so bad they prove ~anyone~ could it. It’s not helping your argument. Secondly, as a disabled and neurodivergent artist myself I don’t think it’s a stretch at all to say there’s an innate neurochemistry that sets us up for success, something that makes that “eye to brain to hand” thing possible. I don’t think it’s a stretch to say that in the vast neurodiversity of human beings, that there can’t exist a person whose brain hugely struggles to make those connections. It’s obvious to me that it comes more easily to some than others, the same way reading and writing do. Regardless of your opinions on AI, you aren’t going to reach this person with the argument that they could if they “just tried”. Had coworkers tell me I could run a marathon if I just “worked at it”. No, I couldn’t. I have severe pectus excavatum which severely compressed my heart. I have a literal “low ceiling” for physical activity, running a marathon just isn’t in the cards for me and I have to just live with that. I get so frustrated with people telling me what I can/can’t do because they aren’t the ones living in my body! I’m sure this person feels similarly. Regardless of your intent, you’re using ableist rhetoric to defend your position.
