This is extremely important. Just this week I played around with a popular music creation AI tool. I created dozens of version of the same song in various genres. Every single one of these had an incredible music hook. The problem here is the model was trained on copyrighted popular music of all of these genres. The issue I've ran into when bringing this concern to non creators is they tend to see this as a greater good and something that gives access to music and art creation to people who otherwise couldn't. What they don't understand is that creative types will end up disappearing or never realizing their talent. Just like memorizing phone numbers or road signs have gone away, creativity will also become rare. A child who could potentially develop a great talent will never realize their full potential of that they possess this capability because it will be easier for them to go to an AI tool to create for them. Some argue that this is just another creativity tool. I argue that it is killing a part of what makes us human. Record companies in particular and creators need to go after AI modelers who use copyrighted work and put proper channels in place that doesn't allow licensing of existing copyrighted music for AI training.
