The problem with linearly projecting trends is that it misses the complex feedback loops. For example, once we get to 10-15% unemployment, and those same unemployed see their cost of living continue to skyrocket because the remaining energy is being made scarce by the very AI that put them out of work, we'll have revolution. And you can bet your boots the data centers will be first against the wall.
