The one thing that always sticks out to me on how much we don't understand AI is the fact that when the same AI model had something like 10k nodes, it was dumb as a bag of rocks, and now it can generate complex concepts (whether it can "think" or not is unrelated) and we have no idea why going from 10k to 1 billion made it able to describe complex ideas.
