AI replacing people. A Finance Director's "wet dream", and we all know the sheer power that the FD holds in their hands. Before AI we've seen inexplicable dictates coming down from the Exec table above. Outside consultants brought in to tell a company what its doing wrong (ie. has too many staff) and how to fix it (ie. get rid of the staff), and then the business inevitably suffer the consequences, especially with the typical Rinse/Repeat cycle while decades worth of company IP walks out of the door to pastures new!
Now, along comes AI in fhe form of LLMs and the pace simply accelerates - zero lessons being learned from history!
