My participation? Fine, I vote blue (in a red state) basically every chance I get. Of all the things you should bother with, AI shouldn't even be in the top ten. At this stage anyway, it is just toys playing toys. Yes, it finds breast cancer better than a decade-long trained doctor; and yes, I can eventually see an impact on the commercial driving sector. The originator of one of the best public sources of information on the internet, Jimmy Wales, says equivalence to human daily intelligence is at least 5 decades away. Personally, I think that he is being mildly optimistic. I really don't see AI bagging groceries correctly, or responding to a serious traffic accident, or actually rightly handling a true lawsuit anytime soon. Personally, I have 165 Million neurons (call them CPUs for now) squeezed in real snug between both ears; AI might slaughter me on a chessboard on the first try, but better than me at this existence challenge called LIFE? It's kinda hard for me to breathe cozza all the laughter.......
