Okay okay, I agree with his arguement as someone who believes the same thing. However there are notable differences, what he is doing is something I disagree with, with midjourney specifically, I use MY OWN ART as a model to make more art in a time efficient manner cus I do not have the time, money, or resources to continuously make heaters with my own hands all the time. (I put my work into midjourney, fiddle with prompts, get something I like, and then rummage in gimp for approximately 5 hours to 3 days depending on how attached I get.) What he is doing is NOT that. Midjourney does take art from people who don't want their art to be taken, I have wanted them to make some sort of opt-in blacklist for awhile because I think ai art is a absolutely fantastic tool and helper in a variety of ways to a variety of people. But that means you have to nut up and use yourself or those who you know for absolutely sure are okay with their work in use for training models. What this guy did sucks, and the way he did it sucked, and the arguement he made sucks because it doesn't apply to him. It puts a bad name on an already despised tool for artists who want to make things they enjoy without sacrificing all their time to make it. When people say ai art is lazy they are talking about people like this guy, and I agree, but I hate that I have to be the punching bag cus silly fucks like this dude can't just put some more effort into their work.
