I know this sounds weird but the economics don't matter. If they're right about their bet.
They're betting that AI basically increases productivity so much that large amounts of labour becomes automated, in which case the innovation outruns the logic.
So it's either crash or escaping the singularity and reaching AGI.
So far it seems to have slowed, but no one knows for sure yet.
