1:01:41 As a jobseeker, I've noticed this whole system is breaking down. I wanted to avoid AI-written cover letters. But when every job you apply for has 100+ applicants, you doubt there's a human reading all that... even if there is, they're on some kind of autopilot, or there is probably some kind of random screening. It can't but become a numbers game. So then I have to write 100s of cover letters just to improve my odds of getting one read... which means either using AI, or going on autopilot myself.
It's dead for jobseekers (genuinely has ground down my soul), but it's also dead for recruiters. They must be getting inundated with fairly well-written applications that look about the same and have little relation to the suitability of the candidates... the signal to noise ratio has crashed for them. I dont know what the solution is, but recruiters must be looking for it. The current game theory is driving us into a horribly ineffective process.
