I agree with Bernie but we can do some projections. The chance of AI being improved to a level that it can perform most of our white collar jobs is very high. AI already has the capability of creating other AIs and improving on itself. Since about 70% of the economy relies on Consumer Spending, Americans losing their jobs as AI adoption increases, would crash the economy. AI and robots do NOT pay taxes so government income will be impacted, exacerbating our national deficit. AI and robots also do NOT buy things and contribute to the growth of local economies. If too many Americans are out of work, who else is going to buy and consume the goods and services that these companies produce through AI? This will exacerbate the wealth divide in this country.
