Excellent discussion and questions to consider. Is this the first time in history where new technology dramatically reduces the employment opportunities available? The most onerous, lowest paying jobs will remain but many of the middle class jobs will disappear, then what? The Industrial Revolution led to many backbreaking jobs which in turn led to “sabotage”, labor unions and strikes.
With the paucity of unions, what will replace sabotage for the AI revolution? How will we deal with the psychological impacts on children and adults?
I am not convinced that comparing today to 1926 is helpful. Unless you are willing to ensure that the entire population is included. That certainly was not the case in 1926 or today.
