UBI is a totally stupid idea. Here's why. It is simply a short-sighted, "today's issues" band-aid-approach to addressing a problem that will only get exponentially worse once AI kicks job-replacement into high gear. An influx of cash to the consumer public just means immediate inflation - exactly like we saw after COVID. This system is not going to solve anything and it's as dumb as taking all of today's jobs and simply replacing them with AI to do the exact same tasks. The question has to be much deeper. WHATTTT is our society actually for, and WHY are people so chained to this system? Address **THAT** problem and the solution is not more random cash being thrown around, but intelligent deployment of technologies e.g. Agricultural robotics, that can provide all the food necessary for the planet to prosper, without a corporate overload needing to profit at every turn. Make work an **optional** system _if_ you want to do something special like fly to Hawaii or have a house overlooking the beach. Make employers need to attract **you** instead of people fighting to be abused and taken advantage of by a system that exploits their labour for less and less return even their productivity is continually increasing. Remove the 'threat of death' aspect to today's capitalism and instead make it work for the good of society, instead of the raw profit of the few at the expense of everyone else. We already have the technology to do it.
