Okay, so the fact that AI is getting better and better at imitating human creativity is not that scary. But also, my solution to someone faced with losing their job is that they find a creative thing that they can do and AI can't. That's the problem Neil the pool of things that humans can do that AI can't is getting smaller and smaller. I also hope that the human desire for meaningful labor will be higher than the desire for convenience. But the other factor, like Hasan brought up, is the crushing tank treads of capitalism. And if the issue of climate change is any indication, the threshold of warning or pain that humans need to experience before they set money aside for a wider non-profit generating goal is high enough to cause irreparable and deadly consequences for millions.
