The output is just based on the input though, so if you're letting it chew on historical data from a misogynistic and racist society, wouldn't you expect the output to match?
The biased political and gender views are probably because techies tend to be liberal males, so I am not surprised to find the programmers' biases creep into the data as well.
Of course there are groups that are more protected than others in real life too. We should always strive to shield the most vulnerable and context matters, which AI sucks at.
