No, of course AI "art" is not art. I'm not even sure if it can really become one with so many limitations + considering that there are artists who deliberately slow down the development of the technology (I was surprised, I didn't know about this possibility before). Nowadays it is more of an entertainment than a real art (as I see it at least). I mean, it was really interesting and funny when I tried to generate some AI drawings from my old childhood drawings, in seconds I got a pretty impressive picture (even if not perfect). Hell, I can imagine how funny it would have been to have this when I was a kid. It's practically a tool to realize my childhood fantasies in dreams in those days when I couldn't draw well yet. Modern kids have more fun things than I had in the 90s. like AI and the unlimited Internet in general and graphic tablets. At one time, I drew with a mouse in Microsoft Paint. That is, sometimes you don't care about the quality in general - you just need it to look good and be able to embody your fantasies into an image in a matter of seconds. Especially good for those who can't draw themselves, but no less entertaining for those who can, if there is an opportunity to process my drawings through AI to look at them in different styles or variations. So I often wonder - do you really think that AI will be able to draw at a human level (well, if we discard such romanticized nuances as soul and all that - be honest, good picture and good advertising made for commercial projects significantly more often attract more views and fans than imperfect art done from the soul while eating grandma's pies) - and is that really what makes you resist it? I'm just trying to understand the essence of the motivation to deliberately slow down and put a spoke in the wheel of the development of AI technologies. If it's really that bad and worthless, then why try to fight it? And if it can in potential draw at a human level, then is there a reason to slow down progress other than just the fight to preserve the profession (yes, I understand that this can be a kinda threat to professional artists, but still - at least that would be an honest answer)? Or are you really just worried about plagiarism? But then what if AI was developed by hiring artists (or recruit volunteers) instead of searching for images on the internet? (I know that already now on some Art platforms we are asked whether we want to allow our work to be provided for AI training.) (P.S: And I apologize for my probably broken English, just in case)
