As a college student in engineering I try and avoid using ai when possible, but I would say I’m in a significant minority. I remember being raised on stories about college being 2 exams and maybe a project just to find out its the same constant homework grind to a greater degree i had in highschool. To not cheat these assignments with tools and videos literally wastes your time. But because every class does this you end up cramming for exams since you don’t know the material.
I am constantly irritated because I genuinely came here to learn not just do meaningless assignments. My political science class was the definition of dead internet theory using a discussion platform called packback which in practice is ai discussions posts with ai responses being graded by an AI.
