CEOs own the AIs, the AIs can't take their jobs because they control them, so they don't care.
Workers live with the vague threat that their job will be gone all the time. They live on the raggedy edge of being fired constantly.
The only class left is the upper middle class. They are in denial because they think that are "temporarily cash-poor billionaires" just a few promotions away from joining the rich in the actual nice gated neighborhood.
