I'm of the opinion that there should be a sort of licensing to use the tech or banning the use of AI that use images as a baseline. Neither is easy to do, especially since laws are broken in the open on the internet daily. You'll be hard-pressed to get the police to do anything with full evidence and proof of where the User lives if it happened online.
Right now all we can hope for is that public-ridicule will put people off from using it inappropriately.
