I think we need to sequester AI in society to one domain - one ‘task’ it can help humanity solve, like healthcare restructuring. In this way, we can study it in a controlled environment while we create laws, rules, ethics and provide for unified, strident oversight. The idea that members of Congress are just putting on their shoes and AI has caught us unawares is a blatant lie. This has been realistically imminent for well over two decades, conservatively. We are easy for the pickins, victims of our ignorance and greed. Without swift action, AI will reign over an impoverished, divided and disposable humanity.
