People focus a lot on the monetary implications of all of this but what worries me the most is the cultural impact. The artists of the past will still have their work our there and the ones of the present will still make art regardless, AI can't kill them, but it can kill the artists of the future. I can already imagine kids that would be interested in making art instead being pushed into just generating it by their AI-bro father or some similar scenario. Being steered away for art for the sake of having "a real job" has already happened for a really long time, but being told to replace the love for creation with a cheap imitation is an even more grim situation.
I just hope I'm wrong and that the heart of the works that inspire so many people keep showing that that's what matters when captivating people and that it's something you can't replicate by offloading it onto a glorified copier, even if you believe you're actually still doing it yourself by prompting or whatever.
