I have many mixed feeling about AI art, mainly anger and sadness though. How is it fair that people who have put hours and years into practice can just get their art used in a data set without consent. It’s frustrating. It’s also the fact that AI art can look really good at times. As a teenager seeing stuff like this makes me wonder how the future is gonna look with all this AI stuff happening. Will there still be people expressing their creativity and experiences? Like, I completely ruled out going to art school and chose film instead because of this uncertainty. Why isn’t visual arts given the same care as musical artist. Is it because the music artists are celebrities with money and power? Is that why people dont glance twice at us? It’s frustrating to how visual arts is so undervalued. It’s humanities expression. A picture is worth a thousand words. Why can you appreciate it like music. As a person who loves visual storytelling, seeing something like this is disheartening. I’m not completely against AI art because I can see it’s potential benefits. Something like generating backgrounds when I have to make an animation fast or helping with the colouring of panels for comics. AI art should be a tool that artist can benefit from. Not take away their jobs. I’m sorry for this rant.
