Karen Hao might want to reflect on how long she's swum in the waters of "democracy." She, like much of the world, exhibits a kind of cognitive dissonance. How many times in this video did she discuss how AI is a severe threat to "democracy"? And then she repeatedly gives examples of how democracy fails. How representatives are incompetent. And in the end, she even prescribes the fervent use of the democratic process to thwart these corporate and related forces. Huh? The democratic "game" is broken at best and heavily rigged against the populace at worst. If Karen Hao wants to effect change, she needs a stronger philosophical and political foundation. I suggest she start not with "Dune" (which might be quite good I suppose) but with "The Machiavellians: Defenders of Freedom" by James Burnham.
